GCSE Results 2017
Following on from last week’s excellent ‘A’ Level results, Year 11 pupils have plenty to cheer about with some outstanding individual results in both GCSE and Vocational courses, including the first results under the new 1-9 system.
“I am delighted that, as with our ‘A’ Level examination results, we have more success stories to share at GCSE and vocational level. Many of these students have done extremely well to achieve and realise their potential and I congratulate them and our staff. We look forward to seeing many of them in our Sixth Form in September.’

Ms Lord (Head Teacher) and Rebekah (Year 11).
Among Rebekah’s amazing achievements were 4 A*’s (8’s), 3 A’s and a Distinction*.
She is staying on in Sixth Form to study Maths, Physics, Biology and English Literature in order to become an Aerospace Engineer.

“I thought I was going to fail but I didn’t! Can’t thank my teachers enough for encouraging me and putting a smile on my face.”
Abbey’s hard work allowed her to achieve an A* (8), 4 A’s, a Distinction and a Distinction*.
Connor (Year 11).
“It is becasue of all of the teachers and the inclusion department, who have been nothing but supportive, kind, accepting and patient towards me and I am finally allowed to fly and be who I really am.”
Connor’s brilliant achievements included a (7), a (6), a Distinction and a Merit.

61% of our pupils achieved a C or above in English
62% of our pupils achieved a C or above in Maths
52% of our pupils achieved a C or above in Science
66% of our pupils achieved a C or above in Languages
Walbottle Campus Students achieved above National Average in all EBACC subjects in the A*-G measure.
