On Thursday 5th March, we celebrated World Book Day with a range of fun activities, all designed to celebrate our love of reading.
Staff took the opportunity to dress up as a character from one of their favourite books. Can you guess which character they brought to life from our staff photos?
Classroom doors were decorated to represent a book and teachers discussed their favourite book with students.
Our year 7 and year 8 students enjoyed an extra DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) session in the afternoon, and they could enjoy a book from their reading routes.
In true Willy Wonka style (and we had a member of staff dressed as an Oompa Loompa) 20 golden tickets were hidden around the school. The lucky students who found a ticket could exchange these for a fantastic new book.
